Description

Amek System 9098 EQ Mic Preamp and Equalizer by Rupert Neve, Matched Pair.

Up for sale is a matched pair of Amek System 9098 EQ mic preamp and equalizer units, with consecutive serial numbers, from the 1990s. Highly sought after by pro audio enthusiasts and world-class engineers, these were designed in the UK by Amek in partnership with Rupert Neve in the mid ’90s, a period that followed his Focusrite years and came before the founding of Rupert Neve Designs. They carry much of the essence of Neve’s legendary studio preamps, and their architecture and design philosophy share a great deal with the incredible Focusrite ISA 110.

Each unit combines a pristine, high headroom microphone preamp offering up to 72dB of gain with a powerful and musical four band parametric EQ, the kind of wide, sweet Neve curves that can also tighten up for precise, surgical work. Separate mic and line inputs, plus individual preamp and EQ outputs on the rear panel, make them extremely flexible in any studio setup, equally at home on vocals, acoustic instruments, drums, bass and mix processing. Their price to quality ratio is outstanding, which is exactly why those who know them love them.

This pair has been together since day one and has always been used as a pair, making it ideal for stereo recording and any serious studio environment. Both units are in Very Good+ condition and working as they should. These are not easy to find in this condition, let alone as a consecutive serial number pair.

The price listed is for the pair. We could consider selling them separately, please message us.
